Thanksgiving Break from Homeschooling
By Linda Dobson
We queried the entire Parent at the Helm staff {g}, and the overwhelming desire of all is to take a brief Thanksgiving break from homeschooling so we have time to focus on a few very important tasks in a different direction. Good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, we’ll be back in the Parent at the Helm saddle on Monday!
We are thankful for each and every one of you for being our friends, readers, and extended family. Through this work of homeschooling advocacy I have met some of the most interesting and dynamic people, and I look forward to another year of meeting more of you!
In the meantime, I ask a small favor. Since we aren’t having Thanksgiving dinner, my hope is that when you have yours, think of Parent at the Helm with one bite. It can be anything. Turkey? Yup. Mashed potatoes and gravy? Sure (but there has to be gravy {g}). Candied yams, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, stuffing, doesn’t matter – it’s all good!
Gotta run…for some reason I’ve suddenly gotten very hungry. Travel safely. Eat hearty. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
