Review: Do You Have a Hairy Housekeeping Challenge?

By Dawn Del Rossi

Since so many of our readers count dogs among their family members, we jumped on the opportunity to review a product for your furry friend – and it appears Dawn is very happy with this one!

anti-shedding shampoo

I am a homeschooling mom of 5 young children and 2 dogs. One dog is a large, long-haired black newfoundland/chow mix that we found a few years ago. The other is a small, short-haired, tan dachshund/golden lab mix.

Why We Needed Anti-Shedding Shampoo

We live in a house with tan carpets in the bedrooms with wood floors everywhere else. When spring rolls around I feel like I have twice as many dogs because of all the shedding that goes on. That’s right – hair everywhere – sticking to the carpet, floating around on the hardwood floors and collecting in corners. (I can’t believe that these dogs can shed so much!) Although it’s the black fur I see huddled in corners and adding black patches to the carpet, the short tan hairs stand out on our red couch (the couch that is supposed to be red).
Generally in the spring I just keep repeating the mantra, “They will stop shedding soon, they will stop shedding soon and we’ll be back to just two dogs.” However, this spring I was fortunate to be chosen to review Vet’s Best Anti-Shedding Shampoo. I was skeptical at first because I’ve tried other anti-shedding shampoos and they didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Vet’s Best Anti-Shedding Shampoo actually made a difference! Now, don’t get me wrong; there is still some dog hair insistently finding its way into those corners and sticking in the couch, but not nearly as much as in previous years. We’ve used Vet’s Best Anti-Shedding Shampoo several times now and this spring I just don’t feel like we have extra furry friends living here.

My kids love to play in water, so bathing the dogs is just one more excuse to turn on the hose. They were very happy to test out the new shampoo! The first time we used it I didn’t notice a huge difference but the second and third time the amount of hair floating around the house noticeably decreased.  Added bonuses: The shampoo also makes their coats wonderfully soft and they smell yummy!
Anti-Shedding Shampoo and a Cleaner House
I’m always on the lookout for things that make cleaning easier, so when spring rolls around, the dogs start shedding more, and nature burst into the house, I just “grin and bear” the extra cleaning while waiting for the next change. The house is less clean but spring brings so many more wonders I have to open the house and enjoy the season.
Vet’s Best Anti-Shedding Shampoo made my cleaning a bit easier because it really reduced the amount of dog fur to clean up. If you have dogs and don’t look forward to shedding season, I recommend you try Vet’s Best Anti-Shedding Shampoo. It has made an incredible difference in our house.
Now, if there was just a shampoo that would reduce the mess created by the five children and the crafty momma.
