Do You Have a Favorite Dried Food Recipe?

If you're new here, you can subscribe to our RSS feed, receive e-mails and/or sign up to receive our FREE monthly newsletter, The Good Ship Mom&Pop . Welcome aboard - thanks for visiting!

As the owner of a brand new, very cool looking dehydrator, I’ve been spending (what little) spare time I have looking at recipes for dried food on the Internet. However, I’m much more trusting of your favorite recipe, and hope you’ll take a moment to share with me!

What Is Your Favorite Food to Dry?

FruitBowl dried foodDo you make great jerky? Dried fruit? Fruit roll-ups? Something else amazing or exotic in the dried food category? We want to try and dry it all! If you’d like to leave your favorite recipe in the comments here, please feel free to do so. If it would be easier for you to send by e-mail, including attaching a doc to the e-mail, that would be great, too. Just send your e-mail to info at parentatthehelm dot com.

If we get enough dried food recipes to warrant it, I’ll post them as a collection on the blog so that everyone can see and share and try, so don’t forget to add your name to your recipe if you’d like to get credit for it.

I’m so excited to get to work on this, so I hope you’ll let me in on your secrets for tasty jerky and, especially fruit roll-ups. Thanks so much for your help; I’m really looking forward to your dried food recipes!

  1. Mother Mary says:

Just herbs. Don't think I've ever used my $5 Ronco dehydrator for anything else but it does those very nice.

Interested to see what you do with yours though.

  2. Thanks, Mary! Folks are mostly sharing on Facebook, and it looks like I've got a lot of experimenting ahead of me. <g>

All best to you and yours,

    Linda</g>
