Homeschooling author David Albert has requested help in getting the word out about an art contest connected with “Friendly Water for the World,” and Parent at the Helm is glad to oblige!  His request follows below so your child or homeschooling group members may enter. Good luck!

Friendly Water for the World Sponsors Youth Art Contest

Childhood Girls floor paintingFriendly Water for the World – a new, Quaker-based, non-profit
organization promoting the use of biosand water filters and other
low-cost, eco-friendly technologies to ensure clean drinking water
around the world – is sponsoring a youth art contest for a new logo.
Participants must be 18 or under at the time of submission.

The logo will be used on business cards, stationary, brochures, posters,
and on our new website. The chosen winner will receive $100, and
recognition on our website (still being built). Other finalists may also
be featured on the website.

Entries may be submitted on-line – please send in BOTH .tif format
(200-300 dpi) and jpg format – or in hardcopy no larger than 4” x 6”.
Entries may be black plus one color (though note that at times the logo
may be reproduced in black or one color only). The words “Friendly Water
for the World” should appear underneath the artwork, or as part of the
overall design.

Submissions automatically become the property of FWFW and will not be
returned or acknowledged (except for the winner and/or other finalists).
The deadline for submissions is August 1st, 2010. When you submit, be
sure to include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address,
and age (and anything else you’d like us to know about you).

Send on-line submissions to or mail hardcopies
