Sometimes when I need a boost I pull out one of my old friends’ books, open to anywhere, and get rejuvenated and refreshed. Sometimes those books belong to John Gatto, former New York State Teacher of the Year. Yesterday I ran across this video of John on YouTube, and share it here in case you might like or need a little dose of John Gatto, too.

I'm glad to see your new blog. 🙂 Since you have a politics category, I wanted to pass on a link to an interesting podcast being done by a young ex-teacher. He's mentioned Gatto in several of his podcasts and he just might be one to take the torch in this area to the younger generations:

Thank you, Debbie! I've only just taken a quick look-see, but I will be back to investigate more! Another school teacher…in VT (next door to where I used to live)…and a pic on a sailboat…which is where "Parent at the Helm" originated.
