Make a Mother’s Day Gift – Fantastic, Fun, and FREE
BY LINDA DOBSON
I get contacted by many companies to provide reviews and, as you may have noticed, I typically say no thank you. Then Wondershare contacted me about their newly released product Fantashow (fantashow.wondershare.com), and I thought it would be something you might like very much. I took a chance, and I’m glad I did.
A Tour Through Fantashow
First, it’s so easy to use. If this totally non-tech person can figure out this home movie-making software with only one – yes, just one! – trip to the FAQs, you and your kids will be zooming away in no time. Fantashow, compatible with Windows and Mac, offers over 200 templates from which your Mother’s Day creation can begin, from light and fun to classic album to seasonal and holiday and everything in-between. It also provides music, but let’s you add your own, if you desire. When I made my “show,” it didn’t like the format of the song I had, so a pop-up appeared to change it for me. (I’ll attach my masterpiece at the end of this post. I didn’t go the Mother’s Day route, but those of you who know me will know why I created what I did. If you care to let me know what you think of it, I’ll cherish your response, I’m sure.)
Next, you add your photos or videos. While the various templates give you different effects as to how they present your photos (go ahead, play with it!), the program also gives you opportunity to add a nicely designed intro frame, add text to your photos, the ability to change the length of time each photo appears, and a nice variety of photo effects that all further help you customize your Mother’s Day gift. I actually found myself wishing I had more time to make my Fantashow bigger and better and, perhaps, one day I will. It was fun to have the tools with which to be a bit visually creative, and have a nice product at the end. The program makes it very easy for you to save your movie in several different formats, and even provides you the ability to share on Facebook and YouTube. But I had to stop so I could write this and let you know how you can experiment, create, and make your own fabulous and free Mother’s Day Fantashow.
I think what made me take the leap of faith with this product is that they described it as being designed to fit the needs of moms, helping you and your children preserve, share, and enjoy precious memories through a beautifully crafted yet easy to make home movie. And that’s what I see. Fantashow is normally $5.99 per month by subscription, or a $49.95 annual payment.
How to Get Yours Free
Yes, I said it was free, that’s because from now until May 20, you can get a FREE 90-day Fantashow Premium subscription to make your Mother’s Day movie with no obligation. But wait, there’s more! If you submit your movie to the site’s Fantashow User Zone, you’ll be entered to win a Kindle Fire HD tablet! All you have to do is go to http://fantashow.wondershare.com/campaign/mother/ to learn all about it. I really hope you enjoy your premium trial and think it would be so cool if one of the readers here was able to win that Kindle Fire HD tablet – these are both terrific homeschooling resources!
Well, it appears my “show” is twice as long as Word Press will allow me to include. Bummer. Going to fix it.
As promised, here’s my very much cut Fantashow (thanks, Word Press!):
