A Quick Note to My Friends

A quick note as my sweetheart sleeps quietly in a hospital bed for the first time after two grand mal seizures yesterday. Please hang in here for and with me as I devote my attention and love to every one of the remaining waking moments of one of the most wonderful men the world has ever seen.

Intentions of strength and protection coming to both of you.

Suma, what you are describing sondus like motherhood period. My mother didn’t homeschool us, but she sacrificed and put her dreams on hold and stood by us and there’s still the hours of homework, and shuttling around town after school, and trying to insert religious studies in the margins of public school Tarbiyya/nurturing/educating these precious souls we have in our hands, is hard no matter what option we choose.A mother would put in the same hours into a different school option but really minus the autonomy that the family and ultimately child has in directing their education to their interest.Motherhood is hard period. And these decisions are not easy. But let’s not conflate the sacrifices that any mother has to make with a homeschooling mother.

  2. Beverley says:

Sending thoughts of love and many, many hugs to you and your wonderful husband Linda.

  3. You and your loved ones are in my thoughts today. May your moments be tender and sweet.
