JuleStone Rose Soap Creations: The Origin
How did I get started in soap making? Well, it’s not very complicated. It all started last Christmas when my Grandma gave me a spa kit that included instructions on how to make soap. I tried it, and failed at first (I added too much oat) and then tried again and it worked! I discovered that there was so much fun in soap making, that I began making more and more. Soon, I had a whole lot of soap! At first I just gave them away, and then I thought about all the money I was spending on supplies, etc. So I decided to sell them. At first it was a very small operation and I just sold enough to make back the money for supplies, but soon I realized I could make extra money to save or spend on other things I like. So I came up with a name, and created a website. I started making more soaps, taking pictures and working out the cost and pricing. Now, business has been growing and I am having a great time! I’m learning that it’s so much fun to be a young business owner. Juliette Rose JuleStone Rose Soap Creations© |
Hibbah Mojawalla, 12
![]() Allie Hamilton and the Hollow Critters Hibbah Mojawalla recently published her first book, “Allie Hamilton and the Hollow Critters”, quite an accomplishment for a twelve-year-old. Hibbah entered a contest last November with a Young Writers Program that specified the writer had to complete a 19,000 word book within a month’s time. It would then be printed. The story is an action/adventure about two sisters, Allie and Hannah, who enter a fantasy world through a portal and run in to many bad characters and just a few good ones. A sequel is already in the works. The book may be purchased through Create Space, an Amazon Company. Hibbah is homeschooled by her dad, Fahim, who owns Creative Leather/Island Ship Center here on Grand Island. Dad notes that Hibbah’s writing, grammar and syntax, along with researching techniques have greatly improved during her experience writing the book. When Hibbah is not busy writing, she enjoys travel soccer, swimming and reading her favorite authors, Anthony Horowitz, JK Rowling and James Patterson. Teagan Bentley, 10
Hi, my name is Teagan Bentley and I am a ten year old homeschooled kid. I’ve written a middle grade fiction book approximately 18,000 words long titled Novel Concept. It was published by my mom’s publishing company, Do Life Right, Inc., in April 2011.
The main character, Monica, and her best friend, Julie, hear about a book writing contest and team up to write a collaborative book together for the contest, but since it was October 2nd and they had to get their manuscript turned in by October 31st, they didn’t have very much time to write it…especially since they had to get ready for Halloween which was the same day as their book was due, PLUS they also had to get ready for upcoming birthdays. Even though they had a lot to do, they tried as hard as possible to write their novel in time for the contest.
I live in southern Arizona with my mom, dad, sister, and five cats. More about me can be found on my website: teaganscreations.com. |
