Sell the Old and Make Room for the New:
Cash for CDs, DVDs and Video Games
BY LINDA DOBSON
Those who know me know I’m not big on CDs, DVDs or video games personally. (Since I rarely watch movies, for instance, it’s hard to believe I’d ever watch one more than once.) And since I tend to live as lightly on the earth as I can, there’s the clutter aspect of such collections, as well. So when MusicMagpie came to my attention, it was about my many homeschooling friends that I thought, especially when I remembered how quickly such things pile up in a home full of children.
Online, from the comfort of your home and with free shipping for you via either UPS or USPS, MusicMagpie lets you sell video games, CDs and DVDs you no longer want or need. Granted, you’re not going to be able to retire due to this endeavor, but it could sure save you some dusting.
There’s a minimum of 10 products you’re willing to part with, and each order may contain up to 500. You put in the bar code for each (or you can use your webcam to scan it in) and, assuming it’s in reasonably good condition, the amount the company is willing to pay will pop up. The site further states: “The amount we are able to pay users for their old DVDs, CDs, Blu-Rays or games is item dependent. We use a number of different criteria in order to fulfill our aim of offering users the best price possible…”
Now to the important part – how you get paid.
With a Check payment there’s no need to enter any bank details on our website, all you have to do is enter your name and address, then just ship us your items and you can look forward to receiving your Check in next to no time… Easy! When your items have passed through our Quality Assessment process, we’ll send you your check for the total value of your order!
We’ll make your check out to the name you’ve registered with, so please make sure this is the same name as the account you wish to pay it into.
For all DVDs, CDs, or games sold to us, the discs must be in a perfect playing condition and it must have all the original artwork, covers and booklets. The case must be structurally sound although we accept it may have some blemishes incurred during day-to-day use.
Please note: Your browser must be set to accept cookies in order to use this website.
If you have an iPhone or Android, there’s also a free app that allows you to accomplish the task. The site is free to use with registration.
I really hope this frugal tip from your frugal friend can help your family.
